SW-4040  1950 GPD  Sea Water Commercial RO Membrane

• The SW-4040 seawater RO membrane has a standard production rate of 1950 GPD at 1000 PSI. This membrane is designed exclusively for seawater desalination applications and is not recommended for use in any other type of water filtration system.

  This membrane requires high operating pressure, with a recommended operating pressure of 1000 PSI. While it may operate at a minimum of 800 PSI, operation at lower pressure is not recommended and may result in poor performance and reduced membrane life.

  ⚠️ Important Housing Requirement
  This membrane requires a specialized high-pressure membrane housing designed for seawater applications. The membrane housings currently listed on our website are not compatible, as their maximum pressure rating is 300 PSI. Using this membrane in a standard or low-pressure housing may cause serious damage or failure due to excessive pressure.

General Information

• The first full tank of permeate should be discarded, DO NOT use this initial permeate for drinking water or food preparation as it may contain carbon fines and manufacturing by-products.
• Keep membrane moist at all times after initial wetting.
• To prevent biological growth during prolonged system shutdowns, it is recommended that membrane elements be immersed in a preservative solution.
• (For XLP-4040) The membrane shows some resistance to short-term contact with chlorine (hypochlorite). Continuous exposure, however, may damage the membrane and should be avoided.
 
• If operating limits and guidelines given in this bulletin are not strictly followed, the limited warranty will be null and void.
